12 November 2009 Hexagon Metrology Opens First Precision Center in Benelux
With its new offices at Waalre, Netherlands, Hexagon Metrology has added another location to its worldwide network of demonstration and service centres. The metrology company opened up its first Precision Centre for the Belgium/Holland/Luxembourg region on October 9. The facility will also serve as a base for the sales team. The Benelux Precision Centre gives Hexagon’s local customers and business partners opportunities to attend live demonstrations of the broad range of products offered by the world’s largest metrology group and to participate in training events. The new demonstration centre is equipped with Romer measuring arms, coordinate measuring machines made by DEA and Leitz, and laser tracker technology from Leica Geosystems. Also on show in Waalre are products made by TESA, a Hexagon Group company that specializes in manual measuring instruments. “Waalre was the perfect choice for us,” says Erwin Andes, sales manager for Hexagon Metrology Benelux. “Our Precision Centre is right in the heart of the Benelux region and in the direct vicinity of the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, which is home to over 90 companies and institutes. This means that we are easily accessible for all our customers and, conversely, that we don’t have to travel far for our service visits.” Per Holmberg, president of Hexagon Metrology Europe, attended the official opening of the Precision Centre in October. In addition, 70 guests were present to have a first look at the new demonstration and service centre. Many more visitors will have that experience now that people can make appointments to be given product demonstrations in Waalre.
