3 December 2007 TekSoft Renamed Geometric Technologies
Since mid-October, the US CAM technology provider TekSoft Inc., based in Scottsdale, Arizona, has been doing business under its new name: Geometric Technologies Inc. The name change followed a decision by the firm’s India-headquartered holding company, Geometric Ltd. (formerly Geometric Software Solutions Co. Ltd.), to use the Geometric brand name across all of its operating companies. The management team and the structure of Geometric Technologies are the same as when the company was TekSoft. “As we make this transition, we assure you of our continued commitment to the business,” said Geometric Technologies CEO and president Mike Coleman in a statement directed at customers, adding, “You can look forward to many positive changes and innovative products.” Geometric specializes in engineering solutions, services, and technologies. Its portfolio of global engineering services and digital technology systems for product life-cycle management enables companies to formulate, implement, and execute global engineering and manufacturing strategies aimed at achieving greater efficiencies in the product realization life cycle. The company’s Desktop Products and Technologies business unit develops cutting-edge solutions to enhance design and improve manufacturing operations. This unit includes Geometric Technologies Inc., the former TekSoft, which develops and markets CAMWorks, a SolidWorks-certified Gold CAM product, besides marketing and distributing Geometric’s products and technologies.
