22 October 2008 Emco Group Gets New Managing Director
On October 1, Dr. Stefan Hansch joined the management team of the Austrian–based machine tool manufacturer Emco, a subsidiary of A-Tec Industries AG. Hansch will soon take over the responsibilities from Ewald Gattermayr, who has been acting MD since March. The new managing director will be in charge of development, production, marketing, sales, and service within the Emco Group. Meanwhile, CFO Peter Vidounig continues to be responsible for accounts, controlling, information technology, and human resources, areas he has controlled since 2004. Gattermayr will return to A-Tec Industries in December in his capacity as the CEO of Mechanical Engineering Holding GmbH and a member of the board of directors of the Emco Group. “I am highly motivated and looking forward to my new duties,” says Hansch. “I hope to contribute to the success of the whole group with my many years’ experience in the engineering sector.” Gattermayr has high expectations for this new appointment. “With Dr. Hansch, we have gained a highly regarded sector expert for our team,” he explains. “In addition to increasing productivity through process optimization, he will reinforce the group concept through bringing together all the factories and encouraging an open communication and error management culture. Emphasizing and increasing team thinking and team spirit is top priority.” Hansch earned a doctorate in engineering at the Technical University of Chemnitz, majoring in machine tool design. He has worked as a design manager and engineering manager for several companies. Prior to joining the Emco Group, he was technical director and then chief executive officer at Alfing Kessler Sondermaschinen. For further information: Emco Maier GmbH
