8 December 2006 Ashland Casting Expands European Presence
Responding to demand from European metal casters, Ashland Casting Solutions, a business group of Ashland Performance Materials, which is itself a division of the US-based Ashland Inc., has opened a new office in Ashland’s existing facilities near Frankfurt, Germany. The expansion is intended to provide customers in Germany, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe with the latest technologies in binders and coatings, cutting-edge design assistance, and other services. “Our new capabilities and added resources in Europe allow us to better serve our customers who are operating metal casting facilities in several global regions,” says Mike Swartzlander, vice president of Ashland Performance Materials and general manager of Ashland Casting Solutions. Ruben Bake, Ashland’s newly appointed commercial director for Northern and Eastern Europe, amplifies. “Although we have had a presence in Europe for many years, our expanded operations will result in closer relationships and bring bottom-line value to our customers.
