4 October 2008 Creaform, Metrologic Group Join Forces
Creaform Inc., the developer and manufacturer of handheld laser scanners, and Metrologic Group, an independent 3D control software publisher, have joined in a technological partnership. Metrologic has developed a software interface that ensures full compatibility between its control software lineup—µLog XG®, Metrolog XG®, and Metrolog V5®—and Creaform’s Handyscan 3D™ laser scanners. Sold exclusively by Metrologic Group, the interface will henceforward be offered as an option to every Handyscan 3D equipment user. “We are very pleased to count Creaform among our partner manufacturers,” says Philippe Cimadomo, president of Metrologic. “This agreement shows how well adapted to portable and optical control instruments our software products are.” Cimadomo went on to observe that the partnership suggests new market penetration opportunities for Metrologic’s products, which are now well established in the automotive and aerospace industries. As for Creaform, that company will add the Metrologic inspection software to its product catalogue. On purchase of a Handyscan 3D laser scanner, customers will have the opportunity to buy µLog XG, Metrolog XG, or Metrolog V5, whichever is most appropriate for their inspection or measurement needs. Creaform will also offer the technical after-sales support. “The integration of the Handyscan 3D offer with the software developed by Metrologic Group enables us to offer to our clientele integrated and world-renowned metrology solutions,” explains Charles Mony, president of Creaform. “In doing this, Creaform confirms its position as a leader in portable 3D digital metrology while contributing to the ultimate profitability of our clients.” The Metrologic Group. headquartered in Meylan, France, specializes in the design and manufacture of three-dimensional control software and electronics.
