Husky to Offer Its Customers
Cold Jet’s Mold Cleaning Systems

Husky Injection Molding Systems has signed an exclusive agreement to offer its customers the mold-cleaning systems from Cold Jet LLC, an American company that has pioneered the use of dry ice technologies.

The Cold Jet systems propel dry ice particles at high velocities to blast contaminants from the mold surface. Because the dry ice evaporates on contact, no run-off, rinsing or drying is required. The cleaning does not damage or change the dimensions of the mold surface, thus ensuring consistent part quality. Cold Jet has more than 200 customers in the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) industry.

"Mold cleaning can be a time-consuming process, particularly for high-cavitation molds," says Mike Urquhart, Husky's vice president of PET. "By using Cold Jet's systems, our customers will find fast and easy cleaning solutions that will help them significantly reduce system downtime and improve productivity." The Cold Jet systems can decrease cleaning time by 50% to 75%.

Cold Jet offers its T-2 system as a cost-effective solution for general cleaning requirements, and its AeRO 75 for more aggressive cleaning requirements, including machine components.

"We're confident that our T-2 and AeRO 75 systems will deliver the most robust cleaning solutions to Husky's customers," says Cold Jet president and CEO Gene Cooke.
