7 October 2005 On-Line Preregistration for NPE 2006 Opens
On-line visitor preregistration has begun for NPE 2006, the international plastics and elastomers exposition that will take place next June 19–23 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. (SPI), sponsor of the show, points out that the first 5,000 US visitors to preregister at www.npe.org/register will pay no fee. Prospective attendees from outside the United States can register in advance for free admission at any time up to early June 2006. About 75,000 NPE 2006 participants are anticipated. After the first 5,000 attendees have registered from the US, an early-bird fee of $30 will be effective until January 1, 2006. After that, and until two weeks prior to the show, the fee will be $60. Registration on-site at the show will cost $90 for both US and international registrants. The NPE 2006 website includes features to help preregistrants plan their visit. Through the official NPE 2006 housing bureau, attendees can reserve hotel rooms and even negotiate rates on-line. A link to the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau’s website provides information on city attractions, events, and local transportation. Sections of www.npe.org that will go up later will enable site visitors to learn about and interact with specific exhibitors, create personal show planners, take advantage of travel discounts, and schedule attendance at educational programmes held concurrently with the exhibition. Special sections for international visitors will include information in eight languages, details on facilities specially designed for them at McCormick Place, and information on contacts in many countries through which they can learn about visitor delegations and visa requirements. NPE 2006 will be the largest international plastics show of the year. At least 2,000 companies are expected to exhibit in more than 93,000 m² of space, one-third of them coming from outside the United States.
