10 November 2005 MACH Ranks among Top UK Trade Shows
Figures published in October by the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO) in its Bulletin 100 reveal that MACH 2004 was the 10th-largest trade show in the UK that year, and ranked 22nd when consumer shows were included in the calculations. The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), as organizer of the biannual MACH fairs, was ranked as the seventh-largest exhibition organizer in the UK in terms of net stand space. Commenting on the figures, Graham Shearsmith, MACH 2006 exhibition manager, commented: “I think it’s very important that our exhibitors realize just how important MACH is as a show in the UK. As organizers, we’re obviously delighted by our ratings, and we are working hard to try to improve on this for 2006.” In 2004, MACH sold 25,316 m² of net stand space and attracted 20,890 visitors (an ABC-audited figure). The AEO Bulletin 100 uses a ranking calculation based on net stand space and attendance. MACH 2006, scheduled for May 1519 at the NEC in Birmingham in 2006, is the UK’s premier manufacturing technologies event encompassing metal-cutting and metal-forming machine tools and ancillary and related products and services. It will run alongside the Subcon, Weldex, Drives and Control, Electrex, and Airtech trade fairs. The collective events will bring together the latest developments in a range of manufacturing technologies and related industries and provide a one-stop shop for purchasers looking to source innovative products and services.
