17 November 2005 R&D Broadens Sales Coverage
Global PET tooling specialist R&D Tool and Engineering Co. has broadened its sales network in Europe and the Middle East, announcing the opening of two new sales agencies. R&D will now be represented throughout the Middle East by Techno Middle East Co. Ltd., with the exception of Israel, which will continue to be handled by R&D’s UK office. Sharjah-based Techno has six offices in the region. R&D becomes the latest addition to its wide portfolio in the plastics, packaging, and bottling sectors. Reinforcing its presence in Central Europe, R&D will now be represented in Hungary by X-REM Kft., which is already active in R&D’s core markets. In addition to these new agency arrangements, R&D has recently significantly strengthened its export sales team in the UK. While the corporate group is headquartered in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, in the United States and has a facility in Slovakia and an agent in Turkey, the UK is the fulcrum for R&D’s operations outside of the Americas. R&D provides a wide range of tooling technologies for packaging applications in the food and beverage, personal-care, and household products sectors worldwide. The expansion of its sales network follows a busy period which saw the group take its largest-ever exhibition stand at the drinktec/PETpoint 2005 exhibition in Munich and sponsor the bottledwaterworld 2005 Design Awards in Dubai, UAE.
