Interplas 2002 Exhibitors Praise
Quality of Visitors, Quantity of Orders

Here's the news on the UK's Interplas 2002 trade fair, which was held from September 30 to October 4 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England. Measured by the number of visitors, attendance at the triennial exhibition was down—but exhibitor feedback indicates that quality of the visitors was high.

"Visitors coming to Interplas clearly had money to spend on sourcing new equipment and suppliers," says show director Justin Tadman.

Many members of the UK's Plastics Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association were impressed by the caliber of visitors to its stand and the number of confirmed orders taken at the show. Similar responses come from the booth of the Gauge and Tool Makers Association (GTMA).

"At the end of the day, what is important to our exhibitors is that we get the right people to the show. They told us that was achieved," says Tadman.

"However," he continues, "there is no room for complacency. We know we have to continue to move the show forward. We will be sitting down with the industry's key players and leading associations to review their experience and opinions along with our analysis and research of visitors."

The Interplas trade fair is organized every three years by Reed Exhibitions. Interplas 2005 will take place at the NEC in Birmingham October 10–14, 2005.
